Brookside Foods is committed to preserving the environment, the health and safety of our employees, and quality of our Brands. These are fundamental to sustaining a healthy business. Our goal is to provide a healthy economy and environment for future generations. We pursue continuous improvement in our safety, environmental, and operational performance.
Brookside Foods understands the importance of environmental stewardship. Our employees are excited and aware of their environmental responsibility and to fulfill their duties as good corporate citizens. We operate in compliance with environmental regulations under the jurisdiction of federal, provincial, and local governments. We are committed to the stewardship of our natural resources through environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable means.
We encourage each of our facilities to take an active role in their own sustainability initiatives. These initiatives have included using recycled boxes and other mediums where appropriate, making responsible plastic supply choices, using recycled cardboard, increasing energy efficiency and reducing waste wherever possible. We actively encourage recycling programs at our facilities. These programs have included recycling waste water, pallets, plastics, corrugated board, office paper, toner and ink cartridges, fluorescent light tubes, used engine oil and antifreeze, computers and peripherals, batteries, metals and other scrap.
